Texas Bans Shein On University Networks

The University of Texas at Austin has banned Shein from campus Wi‑Fi after Governor Greg Abbott in January expanded a 2022 prohibited technologies list to include roughly 50 Chinese‑affiliated companies. The state cited cybersecurity and foreign interference concerns, and UT confirmed the list now extends to campus networks to protect sensitive state and university data.
