Google Introduces UCP Enabling Agentic AI Commerce

Google has introduced the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), a common language connecting agents, platforms and consumers to enable discovery, purchasing, and post‑purchase support. Compatible with Anthropic's MCP, Agent2Agent and major payment networks (Visa, Mastercard, Stripe), UCP will power purchases in Google's AI Mode and Gemini app, prompting hotels and vendors to integrate via CRS, channel managers or cloud PMS to capture AI-driven bookings.
