Waymo Builds World Model With Genie 3

Waymo, with help from Google's DeepMind, recently built the Waymo World Model using Genie 3 to generate photorealistic, interactive 3D driving environments for autonomous vehicle testing. The simulation platform can recreate rare edge cases—tornadoes, floods, fires, snow-covered bridges, and rogue elephants—and leverage real dashcam footage to produce high-fidelity scenarios. This enables accelerated, multimodal validation across lidar, camera and sensor stacks.
