VS Code Enables Multi-Agent Development Support

Microsoft's Visual Studio Code January 2026 release (v1.109), released February 4, adds multi-agent support for Anthropic Claude and OpenAI Codex and a unified Agent Sessions dashboard. The update introduces parallel subagents, MCP Apps support, Agent Skills GA, Copilot Memory, and security and performance optimizations. Developers can run Copilot, Claude, and Codex side-by-side and delegate tasks across local and cloud agents.
