University of Calicut Establishes AI Centre of Excellence

The University of Calicut will establish a Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence on its Tenhipalam campus after the Syndicate approved the proposal on March 1, 2026. The centre will offer international-standard training, research facilities, and new advanced courses, with a blueprint developed via consultations with Indian and foreign AI experts; a sub-committee will explore twinning and joint degree collaborations.
