UK Departments Restrict Spending On X Platform
Most UK government departments have spent little or nothing with social media platform X since July 2024 after a Cabinet Office Safe Framework assessment, ministers told Parliament. The Department for Education reported spending £27,118 between July 1, 2024 and Jan. 19, 2025, while six departments reported zero spend and others paid modestly for monitoring services. The Cabinet Office refused to publish the assessment.
