Pakistan Adopts Islamabad Artificial Intelligence Declaration

ISLAMABAD, Feb 9 — Pakistan formally articulated its AI vision by adopting the Islamabad Artificial Intelligence Declaration, federal IT minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said Monday. Finalized after consultations with more than 40 global technology leaders, the declaration sets eight pillars—including sovereign data privacy, explainability, and a private-sector-led, government-enabled approach—to guide ethical, outcome-driven AI development and strengthen Pakistan’s digital governance and economy.
