NPCI Partners With NVIDIA To Build Payments AI

NPCI on Feb. 18, 2026 announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to scale and develop a sovereign, payments-native AI foundation model for India's payment ecosystem. The initiative will use NVIDIA Nemotron open-model family and build on NPCI's UPI Help Assistant pilot to prioritize trust, resilience, security, and data sovereignty for population-scale, real-time payments. NPCI said the work aims to enable scalable, compliant AI across the payments ecosystem.
