Newsom Criticizes Trump Climate Rollbacks in Munich

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Feb. 13–15, 2026, urged world leaders to view President Donald Trump as "temporary" and criticized his administration's rollback of the 2009 endangerment finding. Newsom said the rollbacks favor oil, gas and coal and called on allies to "call this guy out." Democrats sought to rebuild transatlantic ties and present an alternative foreign-policy agenda.
