Kroger Names Greg Foran As CEO

Kroger named former Walmart executive Greg Foran as its chief executive officer on February 9, 2026, 11 months after its previous CEO resigned. Foran led Walmart's U.S. division for six years and most recently served as Air New Zealand CEO, and Kroger said shares rose about 6% premarket after the appointment. The hire aims to strengthen Kroger's digital and competitive position versus Walmart, which holds about 21% U.S. grocery share.
