Iran Tops Islamic World Biotechnology Rankings

Based on long-term scientometric performance data from 2000 to 2024, Iran is introduced as the leading country in the Islamic world in molecular and genetic technologies, including gene therapy, CRISPR, RNA interference, and transfection. The evaluations place Iran within the global top 30 in several subfields (transfection 14th, gene therapy 15th, CRISPR 22nd, RNAi 29th) and report top-ten progress in cell therapy.
