Firefox Introduces Master AI Controls For Users

Mozilla says Firefox 148 will add a new AI controls section on February 24, with early access in Firefox Nightly now. The settings introduce a master toggle that blocks current and future generative AI features—automatic translation, AI-generated PDF alt text, AI-assisted tab grouping, link previews, and a sidebar chatbot—and prevents future AI prompts, with preferences persisting across updates.
