India Orders Third Fleet Of Nuclear Reactors

India plans to seek bids for as many as ten 700-megawatt pressurized heavy water reactors, people familiar with the plan said on Jan. 28, 2026. The move follows December legislation opening the nuclear sector to private firms and easing liability rules, supporting the government's 100-gigawatt-by-2047 target but requiring about $211 billion of investment.
