Honolulu Transitions To Electric Bus Fleet

Honolulu's Department of Transportation is transitioning its public bus system to an all-electric fleet, planning to purchase over 500 battery-electric buses and invest more than $900 million through 2040, supported by a $45 million grant. The city has already introduced 17 buses and is procuring 70 more while using BetterFleet's digital-twin software and Stantec analysis to design charging networks, depot siting, and rail-bus integration.
