Hong Kong's latest depression index survey, conducted by the Mental Health Association and CUHK's Department of Social Work in 2025, found record-high mental health scores based on 2,695 street and online responses. Average depression reached 7.27 and anxiety 5.90, with nearly 30% reporting moderate-to-severe depression and 22.6% moderate-to-severe anxiety; Generation Z showed particularly high rates and many respondents avoid seeking professional help.
