Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region said it will boost China–ASEAN trade over the next five years by expanding logistics channels and supportive policies, Wei Tao said. The region plans projects including the Pinglu Canal—a 134.2-kilometer river-to-sea link opening during the China-ASEAN Expo in September that will accommodate 5,000-ton vessels, shorten routes by about 560 kilometers and save more than 5.2 billion yuan annually. These upgrades aim to strengthen cross-border supply chains and direct access to Qinzhou port.
