Google Hires Engineers For AI-Driven Creativity

Yasmeen Ahmad, Google Cloud director, told Business Insider that she now prioritizes engineers who demonstrate creative, AI-driven problem-solving during interviews. She said hiring focuses on "early adopters" who tinker with new tools and on scenario testing that assesses candidates' ability to design safe, multi-step AI workflows and automated evaluation loops in unfamiliar domains. Ahmad said this reflects engineers shifting toward orchestrating multi-agent systems rather than writing detailed code.
