Google now enables AI-generated overview summaries for Google Drive folders, scanning subfolders, files, PDFs and scanned images for paying Gemini subscribers and Workspace customers. Google says content processing occurs in a private space, keys are managed by Google, and Drive data is not used to train models. The rollout, implemented by default for subscribers, has raised user privacy concerns and prompted some to opt out or migrate sensitive files.
