Former IDF Officer Emphasizes People Behind Algorithms

At the Cybertech Global conference in Tel Aviv on January 27, 2026, former IDF Unit 8200 officer Maj. (res.) Julia Kogan Ehrlich said the key to the cyber–AI race remains the people behind algorithms, emphasizing adaptability and fast learning. Panels also reported Ashdod Port faces about 100,000 monthly cyberattacks and that Cyprus, Greece and Israel are collaborating on four cyber pillars including threat-sharing, joint training and research.
