Ethereum Launches ERC 8004 Agent Reputation Standard

Ethereum Foundation releases ERC-8004, a new on-chain standard for identity, reputation, and validation registries enabling trustless AI agent interactions, now live on mainnet. The spec, co-authored by Davide Crapis, supports reputation metrics, decentralized discovery, and cross-chain registration, and pairs with X402 to tie payments to requests. Developers and marketplaces can now assess and integrate specialized AI agents across major L2s, improving transactional trust.
