Memory Prices Surge Strains Networking Hardware

According to a Counterpoint Research report, DRAM and NAND memory prices have surged more than 600% year-over-year, driven by demand from AI data centers. Over nine months, smartphone memory prices tripled while broadband-product memory rose nearly sevenfold, pushing router BOM shares from about 3% to over 20% and threatening ISP equipment promotions. Analysts expect supply constraints to persist through at least June 2026.
