Ethereum Advances Roadmap With AI-Generated Prototype

On Feb. 28, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said AI agents built a working Ethereum client prototype in 14 days, producing about 700,000 lines covering 65 roadmap items. He warned the rapid AI-driven development raises security and verification challenges and urged splitting productivity gains between faster delivery and stronger auditing. Ethereum also plans account abstraction via EIP-8141 in the Hegota fork scheduled for 2026.
