Employers Withhold Pay Premiums For AI Skills

Payscale's 2026 Compensation Best Practices Report finds that while over 60% of companies list AI skills in job postings, 55% do not offer pay premiums, bonuses, or equity for AI proficiency. Only 14% raise base pay, 10% provide bonuses, and 9% offer long-term incentives; 30% of employers report deploying AI to replace roles. The report also highlights low voluntary turnover and emerging AI-related hiring.
