Drones and AI Reshape Future Warfare Economics

Defence experts told MPs during a one-off Defence Committee session that drones and AI are reshaping warfare and demand faster adaptation by armed forces. Air Marshal (Retd) Edward Stringer and Dr Keith Dear of Cassi cited low-cost drones, Israel's recent 12-day campaign, and projections that AI task capability will grow from seconds in 2023 to an hour by 2025 and a full human-year equivalent by 2029.
