Directors Guild Negotiates To Protect Jobs And Benefits

Directors Guild national executive director Russ Hollander told Variety in a late-April interview that as union contract talks begin Monday, the DGA will focus on jobs, health care and AI protections. He cited industry data showing a 35–40% global drop in TV production in 2024 and an 8–12% decline in feature films since 2022, and said the guild will coordinate closely with SAG‑AFTRA and the Writers Guild.
