CSIR-IIIM Lays Foundation For Green Block

On Feb 25, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh laid the foundation for a 'green' Biological, Chemical and QCQA block at CSIR-IIIM in Jammu, to house plant and preclinical animal labs, natural product chemistry and accredited quality control facilities, plus a guest house. Sanctioned at 54.55 crore rupees and expected within 18 months, the 7,500-square project aims to boost drug discovery, the lavender aroma economy and PPP cannabis medicinal research.
