China Strengthens IP Protection For Emerging Tech

China will strengthen intellectual property protection in new and emerging fields, particularly those related to artificial intelligence, and will push for international IP rules in 2026, officials from the China National Intellectual Property Administration said on Friday. The administration highlighted expanded foreign-related IP disputes, established 99 overseas dispute-response platforms by end-2025, and reported recovering 2.75 billion yuan in 2025, aiming to bolster cross-departmental coordination and expert support.
