Education Minister Reasserts Teachers' Role Against AI

Indonesia's Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said at a national seminar in Yogyakarta on Saturday that artificial intelligence cannot replace teachers because it lacks lived experience, moral responsibility and humanity. He emphasized human control, ethics, and data-quality limits of AI, and noted the Ministry is introducing AI and coding education as an elective from fifth grade, implemented gradually based on teacher readiness.
