BIOPREVENT Predicts Chronic GVHD And Mortality

Researchers at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center and collaborators published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation (2026) that they developed BIOPREVENT, an AI-based tool using seven immune biomarkers and nine clinical factors to predict chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and transplant-related mortality. Using data from 1,310 transplant recipients and Bayesian additive regression trees, the team validated a free web application that stratifies patients' 18-month risk, enabling earlier monitoring and research.
