AWS Introduces Frontier Agents For Autonomous Execution

On Feb. 27, 2026, AWS announced frontier agents, a new class of AI that performs complex reasoning, multi-step planning, and autonomous execution for hours or days. The AWS Security Blog said these agents address limits like inability to retain learned information, short autonomy windows, and constant supervision requirements. The capability also supports persistent, collaborative multi-agent workflows for extended tasks.
