Amazon Maintains Anthropic Access Excluding Defense Work

Amazon said on Friday it will continue offering Anthropic's Claude models to AWS customers for all workloads except those tied to the Department of Defense, after the DoD labeled Anthropic a 'supply chain risk.' The company, which invested about $8 billion in Anthropic and committed 500,000 Trainium 2 chips as part of an $11 billion AWS campus deal, will help customers transition DoD workloads to other AWS options.
