Alibaba Releases Qwen3.5 Open-Weight Multimodal Model

Alibaba released Qwen3.5 on Monday, offering both an open-weight 397-billion-parameter model and a hosted Qwen-3.5-Plus. The models provide native multimodal understanding of text, images and video, support 201 languages, and add coding and agentic capabilities while Alibaba reported self-benchmarks claiming parity with leading Western models. The open-weight option allows on-premise download, fine-tuning and deployment.
