Recent research and Google's Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG) show AI companies increasingly rely on residential proxy networks, including IPIDEA, to scrape freshly published web content for model training. GTIG disabled IPIDEA's infrastructure on January 29 after finding SDK vulnerabilities and misuse; analysis reveals 46% IP overlap across providers, up to 101 provider pools per IP, and nearly 79 million unique IPs in 90 days.
