Wikimedia Ukraine Reports 2025 Community Growth

In 2025, Wikimedia Ukraine supported volunteer-driven free-knowledge projects, with 265 participants submitting over 38,000 photos to Wiki Loves Monuments, 1,150 educators completing an online Wikipedia-in-the-classroom course, and 150+ volunteers contributing Ukrainian culture content in 70 languages. They launched five new initiatives including Ukraine’s first Wikimedia research conference (80 attendees), a beginner MOOC, and an Open GLAM pilot surveying over 550 institutions to strengthen heritage documentation amid the ongoing Russian invasion.
