Washington Post Implements Major Newsroom Cutbacks

On Wednesday, The Washington Post cut reporters across its newsroom in a major restructuring, executive editor Matt Murray said, and union officials said the reductions number in the hundreds. The Bezos-owned company said it will shrink international coverage, merge desks, close its daily podcast Post Reports and refocus on politics, national security, science and business, citing AI disruption and falling search traffic.
