UNC Appoints Chief AI Officer To Lead Strategy

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill appointed Jeffrey Bardzell in November as vice-provost for artificial intelligence and chief AI officer to lead its campus AI strategy. Bardzell plans to improve AI literacy, coordinate AI curriculum across hundreds of classes, and publish AI-use guidelines expected by fall, while balancing faculty discretion and addressing infrastructure constraints.
