UN Establishes International Scientific Group For AI Regulation

The United Nations is establishing an International Scientific Group under the UN General Assembly to develop regulatory recommendations for artificial intelligence, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said on February 4. A shortlist of 40 candidates (19 women, 21 men) will be submitted to the General Assembly on February 12, and the group's first report is due in July, advising sectors such as healthcare, energy, and education.
