South Korea Speaker Seeks FTA Upgrade With Singapore

South Korean National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik met Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Jan. 19 at the Istana to discuss upgrading their 20-year-old free trade agreement and expanding cooperation in supply chains and green energy. Woo requested Singapore's support for South Korea's bid to join the CPTPP and urged greater investment by Singaporean sovereign wealth funds, while both sides noted cooperation in AI, nuclear energy and infrastructure.
