SMVEC Hosts National Agentic AI Hackathon

On January 29, 2026, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College (SMVEC) hosted 'AI IGNITE', billed as India's first national agentic AI hackathon, attracting over 2,500 participants and more than 1,000 registered teams. After screening, 130 teams were shortlisted and 106 teams (395 students) competed in a final 36-hour event; eight industry judges awarded cash prizes and internships, strengthening industry–academia collaboration.
