Senator Warren Questions Google's Gemini Checkout

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has written to Google CEO Sundar Pichai seeking detailed information about the company's plan to add a checkout feature to its Gemini chatbot, announced last month via the Universal Commerce Protocol developed with Shopify, Target, Walmart, Wayfair and Etsy. Warren warns the integration could expose sensitive user data and enable upselling, and asks whether users will be informed; Google must reply by Feb. 17.
