SAP and Fresenius Build Sovereign Healthcare AI Platform

SAP and Fresenius announced they are building a sovereign AI platform for healthcare to enable secure data processing and compliance in clinical settings. The collaboration will use SAP Business AI and SAP Business Data Cloud, integrate hospital systems via HL7 FHIR, and target a mid three‑digit million euro investment to scale AI from pilot to production across German and European hospitals. The platform aims to preserve data sovereignty while enabling interoperable AI-enabled care.
