Perplexity AI Signs $750M Microsoft Azure Deal

Perplexity AI struck a $750 million, three-year pact with Microsoft to leverage Azure's Foundry platform, Bloomberg reported. The deal lets Perplexity deploy models from OpenAI, Anthropic and xAI while maintaining AWS as its core provider, and comes amid an ongoing Amazon lawsuit over Perplexity’s agentic shopping tool Comet. The agreement boosts Azure's multi-model positioning and provides infrastructure redundancy for Perplexity.
