Pennsylvania Repeals RGGI Restores Energy Jobs

Pennsylvania formally repeals its plan to join the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) after the state Supreme Court dismissed litigation and a November budget deal finalized repeal, the change confirmed Jan. 6. The repeal ends a six-year investment freeze that had cost roughly 650 union jobs and stalled about 13 billion dollars in projects, enabling gas conversions and data-center developments while raising emissions leakage concerns.
