OpenAI Pays for Stargate Data Center Energy

OpenAI said on Tuesday it will pay costs of developing energy-related infrastructure for its Stargate data centers, aiming to prevent higher consumer electricity bills. The company pledged to fund grid upgrades, additional generation like solar and battery storage, and dedicated rates, coordinating with partners such as Oracle, Vantage Data Centers and local utilities. The commitment mirrors Microsoft's earlier community energy pledges and targets several U.S. sites.
