Manitoba Creates Executive Director For AI

The Manitoba government is hiring an executive director of AI and data to oversee artificial intelligence use across provincial public services, announced in a job posting that remains open with a Dec. 8, 2025 closing date. The province already uses AI — about 7,000 security-rebate applications were initially filtered by AI and 285 staff use Microsoft Copilot — and the role will develop governance and data-sovereignty frameworks.
