India Secures US ICT Imports Under Trade Deal

Under an interim trade agreement, India and the United States agreed on Saturday to remove barriers and restrictive import licensing for US medical devices and information and communication technology goods, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said. The pact commits India to assess within six months whether US or international standards will be accepted and aims to boost imports of GPUs and data‑centre equipment to support AI, data‑centre, and quantum computing development.
