HII Integrates AI Welding Technology With Path Robotics

HII signed a memorandum of understanding with Path Robotics to explore integrating AI-driven autonomous welding into shipbuilding, officials said. Signed at Path’s Columbus, Ohio headquarters and attended by HII EVP Eric Chewning and Path CEO Andy Lonsberry, the deal will target autonomous capability development, workforce training and an IP framework to boost throughput after a 14% rise in 2025 and meet U.S. Navy standards.
