Finance Minister Introduces Kartavya Budget Framework

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday laid out the Union Budget 2026, unveiling a three‑pronged 'Kartavya' framework focused on growth, people‑centric development and inclusive access. She highlighted more than 350 reforms since the government's August 2025 announcement, emphasized technology‑led governance including AI, and called for continued structural reforms and a resilient financial sector to mobilize savings and sustain productivity.
