Erewash Council Stops Posting On X

Erewash Borough Council in Derbyshire voted at a full council meeting to stop posting on X, formerly Twitter, and plans to cease activity from spring after a motion raised by a Green councillor. Councillors cited safety concerns over X's AI tool Grok, weak moderation and deepfake image risks; the council noted its X account has about 5,500 followers versus 18,000 newsletter subscribers and Facebook posts averaging 29,000 views.
