BCGX Forecasts AI Drives India's Productivity

On Feb. 15, BCGX, BCG's AI and innovation division, said AI in India will drive productivity, quality, and role redesign in the near term rather than mass unemployment, urging a "sovereign by design" approach to retain data control while staying globally integrated. It highlighted India's strengths—13% of global AI talent, roughly 600,000 AI professionals today rising to 1.25 million by 2027, and over 2,000 startups—and recommended scaled skilling, governance, and sovereign infrastructure to capture economic value.
